Always On Time |
Always On Time is a Windows Internet
utility that will connect to one of several dozen public atomic time servers and
fetch the current atomic clock time value. If a difference in time is
discovered between the atomic time server and your PC's clock, you then are
able to update and synchronize your PC's clock with the current atomic clock
time.
For this to work, however, you must be connected to the Internet. Just
dial-up (if you have a modem), and once you have connected to the Internet,
click the "Check the time" button.

Due to limitations of all PCs, the internal
system clock in your computer tends not to be very accurate. Always On Time provides a high degree of
accuracy and the difference between local computer time and atomic clock
time after correction will rarely exceed 0.5 second. This slight difference
may be caused by unavoidable network transmission delay.
Always On Time is configurable, allowing
you to choose alternate time servers (over 2 dozen to choose from), and also allows you to have your
PC's clock synchronized automatically each time Windows boots up:
Always On Time is your solution for accurately setting and
maintaining you computer's date and time!

"I work in a job where accurate time is important. It is nice
to finally have access to accurate time on my PC, with which to set my watch, and household clocks to. It is probably some kind of neurosis." (Robert
M.)
