Zip Code database with Area Codes

ZIP Code Databases

We have available a ZIP Code database in ASCII comma delimited format ("CSV" format) and dBase III formats. This database contains the same data as found in The Zip Code Companion software utility. Specifically, the database file contains the following fields:

City
State
ZIP Code
Area code
Time zone

If you need more than these 5 fields of data (such as Counties and Latitude and Longitude), then click here. If you only need 3 fields of data (City, State, ZIP), then click here.

Approximately 43,000 ZIP Codes are included in this database. Please note that this database lists each ZIP Code in the USA only once, along with the PREFERRED USPS city for that ZIP Code.

The data can be imported into most database applications, such as Microsoft Access, Excess, FoxPro or FileMaker Pro.

The database is updated annually. The last update occurred in August 2017. The cost of each update is $20. There is no subscription plan, however, customers are automatically notified when updates occur. The cost of the complete database file for first time customers is $29.95 and can be ordered online.

The Zip Code database is to be used on a single PC, and where the database cannot be accessed by other computers on a network.

Corporate License

The Zip Code database Corporate License grants your company the right to include the database in an application to all users within your company.

This license also allows the use of the Zip Code database for an application that is on a computer network.

The data cannot be used in an application that is resold (see Developer License below).

The database cannot be resold all or in part.

Developer License

The Developer License allows you to incorporate any part of the Zip Code database on an "unlimited basis" in custom applications that you have developed and provided that the data is not easy to copy or steal. The Zip Code database cannot be sold individually (by itself), but must accompany your application at all times. Leaving the Zip Code database in an unencrypted, external file is not permitted. The Zip Code database must be embedded into your application, unable to be altered or copied by the end user, or the database file must be encrypted external to your application.
